The Miami Marlins have signed utility Alex Burg, the former Washington State star who was the MVP of our 2008 West Coast League championship team. He was recently released by the San Francisco Giants after playing three years in their farm system, and then briefly was the property of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the independent American Association.

Head assistant coach Randy Rutschman (pictured, right, with Corvallis skipper Brooke Knight) of George Fox writes about the connections he made as a Knight that make the program special. Rutsch played, managed and coached with the Knights from 1999-2004. He is an extraordinary role model, father, husband, teacher and coach. And catching guru who continues to coach-up student-athletes by sharing his positivity, knowledge and experiences. Randy sits on the Knights Baseball Club, Inc. board of directors.read more
